For generations, our stories have been spoken in whispers, tucked into journals, or carried in silence. But storytelling is how we heal, how we pass wisdom, how we reclaim what history tried to erase.
In Black and Brown communities, every testimony—of survival, love, loss, faith, and rebirth—is a thread in the larger fabric of our collective legacy. When we tell our stories, we don’t just remember what we’ve endured; we remind the world that we are still here, still rising, still powerful.
Our words are medicine.
Every time we speak our truth, we name the pain, we honor the ancestors who carried it, and we make room for the next generation to experience freedom.
This is more than a form. It’s a return to voice. A digital porch where our stories sit together in the light.
If you’ve walked through fire and found your way back to yourself, your story matters here. Whether you’ve faced cancer, grief, addiction, abuse, or another storm that reshaped you: your truth can light the way for someone still in the dark.
If you are ready to use your voice and become an advocate, sign up for our Cancer Patient Advocacy certificate course (currently being offered and no cost).
We invite you to add your voice to :
Project Ribbons: Centering Black & Brown Voices For Equitable Cancer Advocacy.
For those that would like to become a Cancer Patient Advocate.
or
Project Ribbons: Storytelling Community.
For those that would like to share their testimony.
When you share, you don’t just speak for yourself: you speak for every survivor who’s still finding the words.
